The Wētā Conservation Charitable Trust does not collect or store any personal information about you through this website, not in any form that would identify you, other than in the following circumstances:
When you use the ‘Contact Us‘ form, an email is sent to the Wētā Conservation Charitable Trust’s secretary and to the trust chair. This email contains all metadata that are associated with regular emails, including your unique mobile device ID or internet protocol (IP) address online identifiers, which are numbers that can uniquely identify a specific computer or other network device on the internet. This email will be stored in the Wētā Conservation Charitable Trusts’s email system, just like any regular email. If you have filled in your email address and/or your phone number in the ‘Contact Us‘ form, these will also be stored in our email system.
When you make a donation, details about the transaction are stored in Xero Accounting Software. If you use the form provided by Raisely, a third party supplier, Raisely will process your credit card payment, but your credit card details are not passed on to us. Under no circumstances will we be giving any information about you to third parties, including marketing providers, nor will you be receiving marketing emails or other unsolicited promotional material from us.
We may disclose personal information about you in response to legal process, for example in response to a court order or a subpoena, or in response to a law enforcement agency’s request, or where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, and as otherwise required by law.
Our website may use Google Analytics to help us understand patterns of use. Google Analytics use “session cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. The information generated by the Google Analytics cookie about your use of our website, including your IP address, is transmitted to and stored by Google outside New Zealand. The tracking data is stored in a database managed by Google. The tracking data is then used by Google to compile statistical reports on website activity for us to evaluate site use. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third party tracking, and monitor your interaction with their content, as per their own privacy practices. The Wētā Conservation Charitble Trust is not responsible for any privacy breaches resulting from visits to third party websites via links provided by us.
