Foster education and to improve public knowledge of wētā, grasshoppers and allied insects (Order Orthoptera), and of the conservation challenges they face;
Increase opportunities for New Zealanders to enjoy and experience wētā, grasshoppers and allied insects as part of the natural environment;
Maintain, protect and increase Orthopteran populations;
Conserve and to restore the habitat of Orthoptera;
Initiate and to support scientific research in the fields of taxonomy, biology, ecology and conservation of Orthoptera;
Facilitate and conduct population surveys of Orthoptera; and
Seek funding support for any of the objectives of the Trust.
